Intimate Impressions: Monotypes and Paintings by Jack Boul

Jack Boul's art utilizes exceptional technical skill to convey a deeply poetic sensibility.  His small-scale monotypes and paintings economically capture the timeless elements of the visible world.  Landscape fascinates him, whether the rolling pastures of Maryland or the deserted beaches of North Carolina.  Yet, the artist is apt to be attracted to the gritty, cityscapes of Baltimore and Chicago as he is to the bucolic countryside.

Color illustrations and an essay by Eric Denker.  Accompanied an exhibition at the Corcoran in October 2000 to January 2001.
